First, you start with thoracic mobilizations since it’s a tight and restricted area for most people. This improves shoulder mobility, strength, and core stability.
Since we add new ranges of motion to the thoracic spine, so we need to strengthen the new range of motion. Now we do handstands to work the surrounding muscles and to lock in the stability. This gives you strength and mobility that lasts.
Next up are glute activations. Glute activations are often viewed as being an exercise for sissies. But, an intelligently placed glute activation can be one of the best things to protect your spine and boost your deadlift.
Now you’re finally ready to move to the deadlift, but this time your body isn’t relaxed and unprepared when you grab the bar.
As you set-up, you’re stable, primed, and strong in the most critical areas.

I get this question all the time, and it would be a flat-out lie if I threw out a number. Being able to do an L-sit to handstand is one of the ultimate goals but it's hard to know. It all depends on what you've done before, previous injuries, current health, how frequently you're going to workout, and so much more. Definitely. Muscle building is not the primary goal, but you will add lean muscle if you follow the program. I don't know if you ever saw the arms of a gymnast, but those guys are pretty damn jacked. As you get better at the challenging bodyweight movements, you start seeing your body change. Your abs will pop which is a great confidence booster, especially when you're pressing up into a handstand and doing backflips and sprints on the beach. Not only will you build muscle, but it won’t be puffy muscle that isn’t functional. The strength you build from Ultimate Athleticism is going to be better than anything you've ever experienced, and it’s not by accident.
Getting ripped is primarily due to how dialed in you have your nutrition, training, and stress levels. If you stick with the program, eat healthy, and get plenty of sleep you are going to be a shredded beast. But, if your only goal is to get ripped this isn’t the best program for you.
